Sambata aceasta am fost la Texelectronica ‘06, un festival de New Media Art. Am fost invitat de prietenul meu Marc, cel care a fost desemnat de universitate sa ma ia de la aeroport cand am sosit in Dallas. Fratele lui, Max Kazemzadeh este organizatorul si dorectorul Texelectronica ‘06.
Evenimentul s-a desfasurat in incinta Modern Art Museum of Fort Forth. The Modern, asa cum e numit pe scurt, este un muzeu deosebit de frumos. Din trei parti este inconjurat de apa si multa lume vine sa stea pe marginea bazinului si sa mediteze.

Yao Bin este fondatorul Centrului Cubic din Beijing. Lucrarea de fata este o imagine dinamica reflectata din doua proiectoare. Senzorii instalati la marginile imaginii sunt sensibili la miscare si daca te delpasezi dintr-o parte in alta, cuburile din imagine vor merge te vor urma ca un val. Daca te opresti exact in mijloc umbra dispare. In imagine Yao Bin e in mijlocul creatiei sale. Am petrecut vreo 15 minute bune jucandu-ma cu umbrele si cuburile

Aceasta lucrare este de fapt o combinatie dintre un calculator, un proiector reflectat in oglinda pe o masa de lemn si senzori. Pe masa de lemn sunt cativa senzori mici care servesc drept surse de diseminare a contururilor. Oricine poate muta senzorii de pe masa si astfel poti desena. Cand termini sa “desenezi” faci o poza pentru amintire si stergi imaginea, ca si altii sa poata crea tablourile sale

M-am amuzat un pic cu lucrarile descrise anterior, dar au fost si compozitii pe care nu le-am prea inteles.

Doua proiectoare, unul in fata altuia, proiecteaza secvente de dans pe o piele de animal intinsa intr-o rama. Aceeasi imagine se vede din ambele parti. Imaginile si dansul sunt insotite de muzica vreunui trib aborigen. Ei spum ca si asta este arta…

In general am ramas cu o impresie buna despre Texelectronica ‘06. New Media Art este un curent nou, dar care cu sigurantase va dezvolta concomitent cu tehnologia.
La anul voi merge neaparat sa vad Texelectronica ‘07.

There is a lot of uncertainty now.
Let’s wait and see what will happen.

How much is your blog worth?

In the last days I realize that the movie Matrix could be designed only in the US. Why?
Simple! Here, in the US live has a permanent taste of artificiality. Everything is clean around, people are nice, everything in the shops is almost perfect, you’ll never find a worm in any fruit and the most interesting is that everybody asks you How are you, but nobody actually listen. Why to ask then? (but this is another question)
For the weeks spent in the US I have a feeling I’m transforming myself in a robot. I mean the circumstances and the context are imposing me to become a robot, a man with a narrow mind: class-reading-class-point.
I miss my country where a person says he/she’ll come at 11 and is coming at 12. Where I can say anything I want to a policeman and he will not arrest me. I miss going to piata and to enjoy the feeling to be a part of the crowd
May be I’m still in accommodation period and experiencing the cultural shock, but I think I’m in the Matrix.
