The Sunday, September 17, 2006, is one of the days I’ll remember for all my life.
I went with Emanuel (a new Romanian friend from Texas) to the Kimbell Art Museum and The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Very impressive!
At Kimbell, for the first time in my life, IÂ admired original paintings of Donatello, Caravaggio, Rubens, Degas, Monet, de Goya, El Greco, Picasso.
My favorites from the Kimbell is La Simplicité by Jean-Baptiste Greuze.
Â
This was the first day when Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth opened the exposition of Hiroshi Sugimoto: End of Time. Black and White compositions expressing the game of light and shadows regarding life and death. End of time is everything, kept in a minute of thinking and liberated forever. My favorite expression is Church of the Light.
